UW MEDICINE IT SERVICES has an outstanding job opportunity for a BUSINESS ANALYST - SERVICENOW position.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE – 40 hours per week

  • Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 07:00 – 16:00 (PST), Monday-Friday POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Perform requirement gathering and process documentation for enhancements/requests/implementations.

  • Analyze business processes and provide innovative and scalable solutions to increase operational maturity for UW Medicine ITS.

  • Follow-up on outstanding customer needs and provide timely status reports to Lead Developer.

  • Build positive relationships with external partners by providing excellent service/support and consistent communication as appropriate.

  • Perform internal operational tasks including data analysis, reporting, and knowledge sharing.

  • Analyze and document requirements for ITIL processes and mapping them to the ServiceNow tool.

  • Manage and communicate ServiceNow release schedule.

  • Create and own development and deployment processes.

  • Participate in internal team development projects, enhancements, and processes.

  • Complete the intake of ITS ServiceNow projects/enhancements by providing time estimates, attending project meetings, assigning work to team members, providing updates to manager, and ensuring projects are successful. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Neighborhood Clinics (UWNC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). In addition, UW Medicine shares in the ownership and governance of Children’s University Medical Group and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (a partnership between UW Medicine, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research, and Seattle Children’s). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You manage the requirements development process through the elicitation, analysis, specification, and verification of multiple levels of requirements (i.e., business, stakeholder, and/or solution).

  • You determine and define business needs and requirements to develop and continue the growth of a multi-instance ServiceNow environment.

  • You collaborate with UW Medicine partners Developers facilitating business requirements analysis via the methodical investigation, analysis, review, and documentation of all or part of a business in terms of business functions and data needs.

  • You perform data analysis.

  • As part of a client facing team, you work closely with the ServiceNow functional team to lead and drive technical solution design sessions for assigned ServiceNow applications.

  • You develop use cases, process diagrams, and requirements documentation using stories and scrum tasks in ServiceNow.

  • You work closely with practice owners and request type owners to elicit and agree to requirements for request workflows and IT self-service on ServiceNow instance.

  • You ensure users are respectfully challenged when requesting ServiceNow enhancements and that lean/six sigma process design standards are integrated into each design.

  • You coordinate the support and enhancement process (known as "business as usual") for ServiceNow working closely with business stakeholders.

  • You document and map current ITSM processes and perform gap analyses against desired or best practice, preferably using industry standard techniques and frameworks such as Lean and ITIL.

  • You build positive relationships with external partners by providing excellent service/support and consistent communication as appropriate. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree Business or Health Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Health or a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.

  • 2+ years of ServiceNow business analysis and business partnership experience.

  • 1+ years’ experience performing progressively more complex and responsible business analysis and ITSM project management tasks. This includes the ability to lead a project with a duration longer than 3-months, and a level of effort estimate <500 hours.

  • Strong experience with data analytics; applied practical knowledge of healthcare data and terminology.

  • Strong, applied experience with formal project management and ITIL practices.

  • Strong, applied experience supporting a team of developers.

  • Demonstrated experience working through the complete report development lifecycle, including leading requirements gathering and documentation.

  • Exposure to various systems application maintenance/support, configuration, and implementation. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This is an Information Technology deadline-driven work environment.

  • The individual in this position is expected to work normal daytime hours. The work may be performed in either an office environment or by telecommuting with manager approval, during normal business hours; however, significant off-hours and weekends may be needed to resolve problems and respond to emergencies. This individual is expected to be available for emergencies (business continuity/disaster recovery efforts) on a 24x7 basis as needed.

  • Must coordinate projects without direct supervisory authority.

  • Must work within the constraints of multiple technical environments.

  • The individual in this position must learn many organizational structures and cultures and continually foster collaboration.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
