UW Facilities manages the University’s buildings, infrastructure and land, with more than 1,100 employees in a variety of fields. The Asset Management group includes Capital & Space Management, Real Estate, Sustainability and other teams responsible for planning and workload management. Maintenance & Construction (M&C) is responsible for general maintenance, repair, and renovations of all University of Washington (UW) main campus facilities including building interiors, exteriors, and grounds, as well as logistics, moving, and disposal of surplus equipment and furniture.

Maintenance & Construction has an outstanding opportunity for a Construction Project Scheduler [(Program Coordinator NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv)] to be responsible for scheduling within Facilities Construction (FC), Maintenance & Construction. The scheduling system encompasses all FC projects. Using information from the scheduling program and associated reports, this position reviews the labor hours for projects and assists in determining the priority of each project to be scheduled.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate the scheduling system for Facilities Construction (i.e. input project schedules, update project schedules). • Generate and arrange distribution (subscriptions) of the required daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports and schedule. • Assist with resource planning of FC shops and produce resource-leveling reports weekly. • Consult with Project Managers, Supervisors and Leads to develop suggestions on load balancing for review with the Group Manager for Project Management. • Monitor resource adjustments and reflect the information in the scheduling program. • Co-lead weekly scheduling and project review meeting. • Generate and distribute pre-planning project documentation. • Participate in field verification of site conditions. • Provide back-up to the Project Services group. • Provide training for new users of the scheduling system as needed. • Responsible for facilitating upgrades to the scheduling system; work with the UWF IT team to identify new modules and test. • Follow Maintenance & Construction (M&C) protocols and all University and UW Facilities policies and procedures i.e. Individual Accountability Protocols (IAP). • Support all management directives and the vision and values of M&C. • Other duties as required

Requirements include:

• High School graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience scheduling construction projects OR equivalent education/experience .

Additional Requirements include:

• Demonstrated experience with construction terminology, processes and scheduling. • Experience in a skilled trade construction environment. • Demonstrated proficiency with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office suite. • Demonstrated experience working with detailed documentation, maintaining high degree of accuracy. • Demonstrated experience handling multiple tasks concurrently while meeting specific deadlines. • Demonstrated experience providing customer service, responding to inquiries tactfully and in a timely manner. • Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated ability to express ideas both verbally and in writing. • Possession of a valid Washington State driver’s license.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Desired:

• Demonstrated successful experience in computerized maintenance management systems. • Familiarity with construction scheduling. • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL. • Experience using BIM (Revit). • Familiarity with GIS. • Technical computing skills involving knowledge and experience with computer systems setup. • Prior experience with organizational analysis and report development. • Bachelor’s degree and one year of applicable experience in the program specialty.
