Our Multiple Sclerosis Center is an award-winning specialty center, providing expert diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation services, and symptom management consultations for multiple sclerosis patients. Our Multiple Sclerosis Center has been a national, NIH-funded leader in multiple sclerosis research for over 40 years, and our center is proud to offer a comprehensive physician fellowship program. Our expert team of providers include a panel of neurologists, rehabilitation psychologists, a rehabilitation physician, and a vocational counselor who work together to address all facets of multiple sclerosis care. Our onsite Freestanding Infusion Clinic, which is part of the Multiple Sclerosis Center, provides infusion services for patients with acute and chronic demyelinating disease. Our Freestanding Infusion Clinic offers Disease Modifying Treatment infusions such as Tysabri and therapeutic treatments such as IV steroids. This is a great opportunity to lead a multifaceted team that always puts their patients first. SCHEDULE: The Health Services Manager will work 40 hours per week. Our Multiple Sclerosis Center is open Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Health Services Manager will oversee 20 - 25 staff members, including Medical Assistants, Patient Services Specialists, MS-trained Registered Nurses, and Infusion Registered Nurses. The Health Services Manager will also work in partnership with 10 - 12 providers. The Health Services Manager will select and supervise staff, plan and implement programs to meet targeted patient volumes, oversee quality assurance and safety standards, and work to continually improve the quality of our services. The Health Services Manager will oversee administrative and clinical functions of the units, including operations, facilities, finances, and human resources. The Health Services Manager will also work collaboratively with the UW School of Medicine in planning and development, and will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure program priorities, performance and outcome measures, and regulatory requirements are met. The Health Services Manager position will require a high level of professionalism and attention to detail, as well as strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field; OR equivalent experience

  • 2-3 years of recent supervisory or management experience in a medical setting DESIRED:

  • 5+ years of management experience in an outpatient specialty setting

  • Recent experience with multiple sclerosis patients

  • Demonstrated leadership experience; able to work collaboratively with medical leadership and staff

  • Demonstrated ability to manage the financial performance of the clinic

  • Demonstrated knowledge of billing compliance

  • Demonstrated ability in process improvement to optimize clinic flow and operations

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills in a manner which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolution, and facilities cooperation and collaboration to meet goals

  • Demonstrated skills in human resources management such that staff are productive and function well as a team. Ability to have tough conversations as needed, and ability to counsel staff and utilize corrective disciplinary process as needed.

  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, DOH and other regulatory agency standards
