The HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER PHARMACY DEPARTMENT has an outstanding opportunity for a FULL-TIME PHARMACY AUTOMATION SYSTEMS PHARMACIST (Rotating/Variable Shifts) . The Pharmacy Automation Systems Pharmacist will perform and assist in supervision of dispensing and other activities related to the pharmacy automated dispensing systems.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Utilize data to identify opportunities in the Pharmacy’s Automated Drug Dispensing System (ADDS) and Inventory Management System (IMS) to enhance and optimize workflows, the system, and related processes. Utilize data to ensure appropriate inventory and levels for all medications stocked in automated devices or identify opportunities for additional training for staff. • Assist Inpatient Operations Manager with ADDS and IMS workflow review and execution of new procedures and/or equipment to improve efficiencies. • Assist and partner with pharmacy operations and IT on maintenance of operational equipment and tools to ensure optimal function. • Assist with maintenance of the ADDS override list. Periodically review override status in ADDS to ensure accuracy. • Assist with build and maintenance of ADDS formulary, overrides, or clinical data categories. • Assist with oversight and monitoring of discrepancies and other controlled substance handling concerns in the ADDS. Assist nursing and pharmacy staff with appropriate and timely resolution. • Assist with creation of summarized usage report of controlled substances to nurse managers on a monthly basis. Run additional reports or queries as needed. • Train new users to the ADDS and IMS . • Assist with review of Safety Net reports as related to ADDS and the IMS and revise systems to enhance patient safety. • Assist with continuing education to pharmacy and nursing staff regarding ADDS policies and procedures. • Conduct assessments on competency of pharmacists and technician regarding the ADDS and IMS systems.

REQUIREMENTS: State of Washington Pharmacist License and one year of experience in hospital pharmacy practice. Months spent in the completion of an American Society of Health System Pharmacists accredited residency training program may substitute month-for-month for the required experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT: State of Washington Pharmacist license.
