The UW Medicine Eye Institute at Harborview has an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated PROGRAM COORDINATOR/SCHEDULER (Full-Time, Day Shifts) to help facilitate various treatments and surgeries for our patients. This position will work with the current Patient Care Coordinator team.

Day Shift DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Harborview’s Eye Institute is housed among the region's only Level I Trauma Center. RESPONSIBLITIES
Manage referrals from various departments/divisions and schedule appointments in a complete and timely manner. Special attention is required for urgent patients
Coordinate with various departments to schedule high-risk patients who require specialized studies
Pre-authorization and contacting insurance carriers as required. Provide patients with explanation of coverage and co-payments
Obtain outside medical records
Manage provider templates and schedules via EPIC application
Communicate with interdisciplinary clinical staff from Harborview and outside facilities, patients, and caregivers
Communicate with physicians regarding patient flow
Coordinate follow-up appointments
Interface with UWP clinics and providers to schedule appointments and follow-up
Schedule clinical appointments and diagnostic tests, especially scheduling liver biopsies, ultrasounds, CT Scans, and MRIs
Provide feedback and communicate with clinic staff to obtain incomplete or missing information needed to process referrals and/or schedule studies
Manage clinic in-basket messages in EPIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty
Three years of Patient Support Service experience OR
